For me, this is the piece that sucked me in. I realized that my husband and I had just planned an anniversary trip without our kids, and I was going to leave the diaper bag with my family who's watching the kids, but that would leave me with no way to carry my ID or debit card, other than hubby's wallet, or my pocket... Hmmm. I remembered a friend talking about Kate and Modern Makerie, so I looked it up and started shopping. I ended up purchasing a custom set, including an Everyday Tote, a tablet sleeve (for books!), and this wristlet. I use it almost every day, it's the perfect size for a few cards (debit, library, zoo, Costco - you know, the essentials), cash, chapstick, nail clippers, and a few other things, plus my keys when necessary. I've had it for about 2 months, and I still smile every time I pick it up! I had it hanging on the back of my chair somewhere, and someone saw it and asked to take a picture because she loved it so much (of course, I pointed her to where she could get it!!!)

I reached out to Kate with a vision, but no direction. I told her I was coming out of the 'diaper bag' phase, my kids are potty trained, I don't really need changes of clothes, wipes, snacks, and toys with me at all times anymore. But I do still need a mom bag - I do still take snacks sometimes, drinks, wipes - whatever the day calls for. But sometimes I don't need any of it. And, sometimes I'm even going places without the kids!! I thought I wanted a tote of some kind, and a wristlet, but I wasn't sure. She was so gracious and kind, and answered so many questions, at several different intervals, as I was trying to decide what I wanted, and how much to save up for it. She never rushed me, never made me feel like I was a waste of her time. And I'm telling you - so worth it!! I received my order in April, it's now June, and I still smile every time I see it.

The tote is the perfect size for me - the straps are the perfect length, I can sling it over my shoulder and it tucks under my arm right where I want it - not too high or too low. It holds my book, my wallet and wristlet, and a few other things I keep with me, with room to add a water bottle, and other items that I might need for a given outing or activity. 10/10 recommend.

I recently started reading again, and remembered something I had long forgotten - one must always carry one's book along! But that created a problem - I'm primarily reading library books, and I didn't want to risk damaging them. Enter, Modern Makerie. Bless Kate, she was so kind to help me with measurements, pictures, even testing out her own books in a sleeve she had in stock, so I could see which size I wanted, and if it would work. I ended up placing a custom order, and I now have a matching tote, book sleeve, and wristlet, and I'm telling you, I smile every time I see them, or use them. And, now I can carry my library books with me wherever I go, without worrying about them getting squished at the bottom of a bag somewhere.

My mom loves the oversized clutch bag, she was on the hunt for a long time for a nice one but most are so tiny. I found this one and I ordered it for her and she LOVES it. It’s so soft and very well made. Beautiful rich color too.

The material is so soft, matching the colors I expected from the website image, and the vegan leather feels luxurious. The hardware looks durable, and inside is so thoughtfully designed - my sister-in-law is going to love this for her wedding shower and I wouldn't be surprised if it makes an appearance on her wedding day! I'm only starting to use essential oils for myself, but this crossbody inspires me to get my own and make them more available in my daily life!

The beautiful workmanship that Kate puts into these bags is stunning! I wish that I was this handy with the sewing machine, but for now I will just order from MM! I got one of this size with compartments for my oils previously and I love how it holds 6 - 10ml bottles so nicely. This is a perfect size to throw in your purse when you don't want to take your entire oils stash with you! I just ordered a couple more without compartments and love them too!
